Disney’s Mickey Mouse T-shirt

Yes, this actually happened. Disney reshaped the pulsar into Mickey Mouse, put it on a T-shirt, and briefly sent two very different worlds into orbit.

In January 2012, Disney offered a Mickey Mouse T-shirt whose white lines deliberately recalled Unknown Pleasures. The shirt was withdrawn soon afterwards.

It is a particularly strange stop on the graphic’s journey: a sombre Manchester record reimagined as a cheerful corporate mascot. The surviving photographs make it a documented product, rather than an internet mockup. This entry records the historical shirt; it is not a current shopping recommendation.
