Dr. Martens’ 2018 Joy Division and New Order collection translated three Peter Saville record sleeves onto its 1460 boots. The Unknown Pleasures version appears at the right of the collection photograph.
Its nearly monochrome treatment makes the waveform feel like part of the boot’s surface. Beside it are the very different sleeves of Power, Corruption & Lies and Technique, a small tour of Saville’s range in footwear form.
