Peter Saville: Unknown Pleasures — Black

Saville revisits his own sleeve as a shaded, almost physical landscape: the familiar stack now has depth.

Paul Stolper catalogues this work as an Iris print on Photorag, measuring 118 × 89 cm, in an edition of ten. It is a fine-art print rather than an alternative LP sleeve.

The ridges have become smooth, modelled surfaces. Seen from an angle, the scientific trace begins to resemble terrain. Saville also produced a white version.
